FPK FOUNDATION
The purpose of our foundation is to support art students who need or want to finance their studies independently.
-
When Florian decided to study art, his parents told him that he would have to finance his studies himself. In a family with four children, the budget was tight and, at first glance, studying art seemed like a tricky choice. His parents had a point there. But if you really want something, you can do it. Florian is now incredibly grateful to his parents for this decision on their part. Thanks to the need to finance his own studies, he had to act and find solutions. Fortunately, he found supporters in the Fritz Gerber Foundation for young, gifted people and the Faustino Foundation, as well as the Canton of Appenzell-Ausserrhoden, who helped him to realize his dream. Since the support amounts were not sufficient, Florian had to earn money even during his studies. He did this in a café and by selling his artworks. Now he wants to help students who are in the same situation during their studies.
Florian studied art at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts from 2013 – 2016 with an exchange semester at the Sichuan Fine Art Institute in Chongqing, China, and at the Zurich University of the Arts from 2016 – 2019.
-
The foundation was established by Florian Paul Koenig and his partner Elin Graf. They are supported by experts from the art world in an advisory capacity. The money for the foundation comes from his company NOA contemporary.
-
We support art students who study at an art university in Switzerland from all over the world. The Swiss passport is not a criterion. What counts for us is the person and their ambitions.
-
We support students with an annual contribution that can amount to a maximum of 10% of their annual budget. This contribution is paid in monthly installments.
-
We seek out students who are independently funding their studies and have strong ambitions for a career as an artist. In addition, we would like to feel the student’s willingness to give the same support back to young students later in life, whether with financial support or as a mentor.

The most important part of the application is the personal motivation letter. We want to be able to read from a maximum of two pages that the applicant has a vision. Part of the application dossier should also be a curriculum vitae, any scholarship decisions from the relevant cantonal authority and other foundations, and an artistic portfolio.
